The first step is to design, write and code your web site for the search engines. It’s not rocket science, but if you miss a few key items the search engines won’t know how to rank your site, or worse, will banish it to the digital graveyard forever.
While we’d like to be able to say that onsite search engine optimization is magic and we’re the only ones that know it, we’d rather be honest with you. Onsite search engine optimization hasn’t changed significantly in ten years and anyone who tells you otherwise is pulling your chain. Yes, there have been minor changes in the world of onsite search engine optimization but the basics have stayed the same.
To get it right, though, you do need to know exactly what to do and be meticulous about doing it. And it has to be carefully tied to your keyword strategy.
Its sort of like baking a soufflé.
We’re even going to commit marketing heresy here and tell you, you could do it yourself – if you had the expertise and the time. Unlike most web marketing firms, we may not sign you on as a client. It’s nothing personal, but we only take on clients when we know we can help them.
For example, if you want top ranking for highly competitive words such as “mutual funds”, we wouldn’t take your money. Without a humongous marketing budget, your chances of success with highly competitive, general terms like that are slim, and you should seriously question anyone who tells you otherwise.
We also don’t take on direct competitors. If you are a dentist in Greenwich CT and we are currently working with one, we won’t take you on. It’s more important to us to continue to serve our existing clients.
